Alexandria Schoolhouse in Old Town Alexandria was created from a simple belief: every child deserves an educational experience that honors their natural curiosity and innate desire to learn.

Inspired by Reggio Emilia, the Montessori approach, and other progressive educational traditions, Alexandria Schoolhouse offers a thoughtfully designed program that blends the best of these philosophies into something uniquely our own.

At the heart of our program is the relationship between teacher, child and family. As teachers, we act as guides and co-constructors of discovery, carefully observing children’s interests and questions to shape meaningful, hands-on experiences. We see children as capable, creative, and full of potential and every aspect of our environment, curriculum, and community is designed to nurture that potential.
