Launched in October 2019, ALXnow.com is the place for the latest news, views and things to do around Alexandria, Virginia.

ALXnow — feel free to call it Alexandria Now — is produced by the same locally-owned company that publishes ARLnow (Arlington) and FFXnow (Fairfax County). On March 1, 2025, Ryan Belmore took over as Publisher of ALXnow. 

ALXnow’s mission is to connect and inform our local community — including residents, workers, business owners and visitors — via original, up-to-the-minute local news coverage and high-quality photography.

We cover local government, development, business openings and closings, breaking news, community issues, local weather and traffic, and more. Our coverage area includes the City of Alexandria and Fairfax County neighborhoods near the Alexandria border.
